Botanical Name:  Mentha piperita
Source:  Leaf

Peppermint has a strong, sweet minty aroma.  It is a very stimulating oil and is useful for relieving headaches and improving circulation.  It is a mild, natural analgesic and antiseptic.  Peppermint oil is also commonly used in confections and cooking, though in most cases an adulterated form of the pure essential oil is used.

Peppermint blends well with Rosemary or Eucalyptus to combat fatigue.  The strong
menthol aroma can be pleasantly softened when blended with most citrus oils for a more cheerful uplifting effect.

  • To ward off drowsiness, Peppermint oil can be used in a diffuser or nebulizer.
  • For headache relief, apply one drop to your fingertips and massage directly onto your forehead and temples.
  • Peppermint oil can bring great relief for tight, sore muscles when used in a warm compress or a massage blend.
