Hello Everyone! Pt. 2

16 Jan

I am Caitlin, Office Assistant at Your Body Needs since January 2009.  I will also be “popping in often” to share information about essential oils and to respond to your questions and comments.  For now, I will share an essential oil blend that I tried a few days ago on a whim and was pleasantly surprised with –

Clary Sage (4 drops)
Bergamot (2 drops)
Sandalwood (4 drops)

Add the recommended drops to the water in your diffuser or nebulizer and let me know what you think!
Why I liked it:  a little bit of everything.  Warm/woody, cool/herbal, spicy/citrus… like being wrapped in a big luxurious blanket.  Also, it seemed easier to quiet my racing mind and fall asleep than, for instance, tonight… I’m going to give it a second go.  Goodnight, readers!

It sounds good. I will try it tonight myself before bedtime. My bedtime favorite is a simply blend of clarysage and lavender. About 8 drops lavender and 4 drops clarysage. I have loved this blend for a while but I sure would love to add a citrus like bergamot to the mix.

Bergamot is nice in this blend because it’s not one of the more stimulating citrus oils – the spicy undertones give it a more mellow uplift that works well with the deeply relaxing effect (not to mention lovely aroma) of the Clary Sage and Sandalwood.

I love the combination of clary sage and bergamot (a less sharp lime-ish aroma) and I bet the sandalwood really goes well with this blend. Lovely!
